NEW PATIENTS:

Dr. V’s approach is quite unique from other physicians. As a triple board-certified MD, Dr. V is well-rooted with the best of what Allopathic medicine has to offer, and incorporates the best aspects of evidence-based medicine with Integrative, Functional, and Ayurvedic medicine to create a unique wellness plan for each patient. (As a pediatrician and internist, she loves seeing patients of all ages and enjoys seeing the full range of patients from young babies to senior citizens equally!)   Our personalized treatment approach goes far beyond simply naming a condition and prescribing a pharmaceutical pill for every ill to cover up the symptoms. Instead, Dr. V and her team strives to address the root cause of our patients’ ‘dis’-ease and create root cause holistic programs of care that educate and empower our patients how to re-establish homeostasis and harmony by eliminating physical, chemical and emotional stressors and regain control of their life. Dr. Vazirani uses a combination of Medical, Functional, and Ayurvedic Assessment; comprehensive functional medicine lab testing (if warranted); researched supplements; and Functional/Ayurvedic food and lifestyle recommendations to customize each of her patients’ Functional Ayurveda™ Wellness Plans and properly modify the plans as needed with each Follow-up Visit.
As a triple board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Integrative Holistic Medicine, Dr. Vazirani serves as a consultant specialist for your holistic health care and concerns. As such, she does not function as a primary care provider. IHWA requires you to maintain a primary care provider for annual physicals, emergencies, acute medical problems, chronic health maintenance issues, medications that you get refills for month after month, etc. Dr. V will collaborate with other members of your health care team including other physicians, nutritionists, therapists, and other practitioners as necessary.
If you have a medical emergency or need to be seen for an acute condition such as a cold, an injury, shortness of breath, chest pain, headache, dizziness, or stomach ache, please call your primary care provider, call 911, or visit your nearest Emergency Room / Urgent Care Center. Dr. Vazirani does not function as a primary care provider.

The best way to schedule an appointment is to e-mail us at call us at info@ihwa-nj.com or call the office at 844-543-2537. You can also request an appointment through our website.
There is $50 non-refundable booking fee which is due upon scheduling an appointment. The remainder of payment is due 5 business days prior to your appointment.
Appointments must be confirmed at least 5 business days prior to your scheduled appointment. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we must be notified at least 5 business days before your scheduled appointment. The 5 business days excludes weekends and holidays. You will receive email reminders at set intervals to remind you of your appointment. It is your responsibility to reply on time. We reserve the right to charge your credit card the full amount of the visit if you fail to confirm, cancel, or reschedule your appointment prior to the 5 business day deadline.
Intake forms should be completed as soon as possible after receiving your appointment date and intake form (at least 10 days prior to your appointment), along with any relevant lab tests, biopsies, imaging studies, scans, or consultations from other specialists you would like the doctor to review prior to your visit. This will give us time to better utilize the time of your initial visit, rather than Dr. V spending valuable appointment time reviewing your records. We do not accept hard copies, please attach your results to the intakeQ form. If you are unable to do that you may also scan and email or fax it to us at 844-954-9900. Please bring all medications and supplements to your in person consultation, or have them handy for your Telehealth/Phone consultation.
At IHWA, we do not accept insurance for any of our services. We believe in offering time-intensive, in-depth integrative consultations that get to the root cause of your health issues and help educate and empower you to take control of your health, and we do not want to compromise on that quality and depth of care. Unfortunately, the current insurance model does not support this kind of time commitment to the patient. We have chosen to no longer have a relationship with insurance companies. We have also opted out of Medicare. Some standard labs we order may be covered by insurance; many functional labs are likely not covered by insurance. Check with your insurance provider directly.
We provide a superbill that can be submitted by you to your insurance provider for direct reimbursement to you. It is your responsibility to determine their reimbursement eligibility with their insurance company and to contact the lab companies directly regarding their participation with specific insurance companies. Please note that IHWA does not handle any financial / administrative transactions or communications with patients’ insurance companies.
Your initial consultation with Dr. Vazirani is an in-depth visit where she will review your current health concerns and symptoms, your medical, family, and personal history, your medications, allergies, sensitivities, toxic exposures, your lifestyle, your nutrition and food plan, your exercise and sleep and stress history, as well as any other information that will help her to understand the factors contributing to your health concerns and how she can help you to optimize your health. She will also review any prior lab testing or medical records from your primary care physician or consultation reports from your specialists/nutritionists/etc., so please send these in ahead of time of your visit as they help us with getting a complete picture of your current situation. You will also have a functional medicine and ayurvedic medicine exam (please make sure to remove all nail polish prior to your visit!), and relevant portions of an allopathic exam as indicated by your chief complaint/clinical presentation. At the end of the visit, Dr. V will recommend any conventional or functional medicine lab testing, if indicated, and suggest an initial Functional Ayurveda™ wellness plan that will help guide you on your journey towards your health goals.
Your second appointment, which is typically 6-8 weeks after your initial visit, usually lasts up to 60 minutes. At that visit, we will review the results of any functional medicine laboratory testing as well as reviewing your successes and challenges since your last appointment, after which Dr. V will further personalize your treatment program. After the second visit, you can typically expect to follow up in 3, 6, 9, or 12 months with Dr. V to review your progress on the program and make any adjustments to your wellness plan. This and future visits are usually up to 60 minutes long, based on your needs and the complexity of your conditions. Oftentimes, if you have achieved your goals after 2-3 visits, you “graduate” from our practice!
Once a person has become an established patient, the IHWA Admin Team is happy to answer brief yes/no type clarification questions related to your visit via email at no additional charge. A Team Member will usually be able to respond within a week or so, depending on when you email. If it has been more than a month since your visit, or if you have new issues or more complex questions that require the physician's involvement, clinical coordination of care, further research, or communications which require multiple back and forth communications, the IHWA Team may recommend scheduling a Phone, Telehealth, or In Person visit. Most patients find it helpful to take notes during their visit due to the vast amount of knowledge shared, and prior to their follow up visits, make a list of questions in a notebook and simply ask Dr. V or her team at their next visit.
